Projects
Here are some projects I work(ed) on from time to time. I start a lot of things to end up never finishing them, but usually as long as I learn a thing or two or better yet, what I was after, it's pretty fun. Some projects listed below were compensated work, but most of them are spare-time doo-dads. You can access my subversion repositories at https://svn.eratech.ca.
WP-prettyPhoto
WP-prettyPhoto harvests the power of Sttéphane Caron's prettyPhoto jQuery plugin, (more Stéphane projects). This WordPress plugin automatically makes all self-linked images open in a cute prettyPhoto inline window that supports multiple media formats, YouTube, Vimeo, QuickTime and Flash videos, external sites and even inline (textual!) content. Read up on the current version's usage instructions to get an idea of what it's capable of!
WP-Konami
WP-Konami is a WordPress plugin that uses jQuery to add a hook listening for a Konami Code input sequence, and redirects successful sequences to a URL you specify in the options. You can get your site listed at Konami Code Sites once you have it installed, too!
WP-URLCache
WP-URLCache allows you to use a shortcode to locally cache outgoing links in your posts and pages.
WP-Dropbox
WP-Dropbox is a WordPress plugin that automatically synchronizes content from your WordPress blog with your Dropbox account. It's useful to keep a third-party backup of things as well as have your blog's posts and pages in flat text files. This plugin is currently under development.
WP-prettySociable
WP-prettySociable is a WordPress port of Stéphane Caron's prettySociable jQuery plugin. This plugin is currently under development
WP-Lyrics
WP-Lyrics is a WordPress plugin that, with the new Custom Post Types, turns your WordPress platform in a fully-fledged lyrics-publishing website. This plugin is currently under development.
WP-pluginInfo
WP-pluginInfo is a WordPress plugin that alows users to use [shortcodes] to output their active plugins as well as output info about a specific plugin slug. See a demo here.
Browser DNS Prefetching
Browser DNS Prefetching allows users to select whether they want to activate, deactivate or selectively configure Browser DNS Prefetching. For more information regarding DNS Prefetching, check out this article.
PressBooks
PressBooks is a new, open source book publishing platform built on WordPress that aims to make it easy to collaborate with an editorial team, and to generate clean, well-formatted books in multiple output. PressBooks is brought to you by the people behind Book Oven.
ContextBox
Proof-of-concept (functional) PHP script that synchronizes IMAP-powered email attachment files with a Dropbox folder using the Context.IO API. Hence the name... get it? The source is over here and there might eventually be something at contextbox.info.
dmDelete-v2.0
An update for Damon Cortesi's DM Whacker, dmDelete is a JavaScript bookmarklet (and an associated JavaScript file) that mass-delete your Twitter direct message threads using Twitter's own reso0urces. More info here.
dynDNS.Namecheap
Command-line PHP script that updates a user-supplied A record with the requesting user's IP, essentially letting you use your own (sub)domain for personal dynamic alias. Explanatory article here.
FreelanceDB
A user-generated and user-moderated database of freelancers with useful information such as rates, specialities and availability. A robust search engine and tag-like based navigation make it easy to look someone up or find someone to collaborate with or hire. Under development!
MoneyMontreal
A moderated database of Montreal-based (or Montreal-active) investors with their professional information, portfolio, interests, type and funding threshold. Also under development!
