Kurt Astley – Never Gonna Give Your Teen Spirit Up

Today is another great day in the history of the Internet. Unless you've been living under a rock in a deep, dark corner of the web, you know who Rick Astley is, what he does and how it can be used to generate endless laughter possibilities. Keep that part in mind when I go over the next piece of information.
Someone named DJ Morgoth did an amazing mashup of Rick's (in)famous hit "Never Gonna Give You Up" to the music of Nirvana's Smell Like Teen Spirit. Let me say that again. Someone used Nirvana's instrumental from "Smell Like Teen Spirit" and added the voice of Rick Astley singing "Never Gonna Give You Up". If this doesn't sound awesome by now, please, by all means, do yourself a favor and check the video. Both pieces fit together in a very, very creepy way:

Was that not thoroughly awesome?! It is indeed a glorious day. Now for the geeky things: I saved the video from YouTube (using KissYouTube) and extracted the Audio Track using Avidemux. The result? A deliciously geeky MP3 that you know you want to use as your ringtone. You can get the MP3 of "Kurt Astley's" latest hit, "Never Gonna Give Your Teen Spirit Up" right here. Typography is so cool

I didn't know the first thing about typography two years ago, but since seeing two videos (after the jump), I really started liking it. According to Wikipedia (and Wikipedia is always right),

Typography is the art and techniques of arranging type, type design, and modifying type glyphs. Type glyphs are created and modified using a variety of illustration techniques. The arrangement of type involves the selection of typefaces, point size, line length, leading (line spacing), letter-spacing (tracking) and kerning.

I wish I was able to create things like these. Here are the two videos that got me into typography. They both use kick-ass parts from Pulp Fiction and The Devil's Advocate respectively. Check it out.
